Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer (ECSE)

Over the past several years, thousands of Wi-Fi professionals have participated in our Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer certification course (or just ECSE for short). This in-person, hands-on class isn’t designed to just teach students how to use Ekahau. Instead, it was created to teach students how to design and deploy great wireless networks (it just happens to use Ekahau’s design and survey tools). Here at Ekahau, we’re huge fans of the ECSE. But there were a couple of small problems with it.

First, we called it the “Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer”, but it taught a lot more than just how to perform site surveys. The ECSE covered everything from Wi-Fi fundamentals, design, troubleshooting, and of course, surveying. While we liked the name, we felt that it could be more accurate, based on what the course actually contains.

Second, we saw an opportunity to expand the ECSE program, given its wild success and universal praise from the wireless community. A huge part of the program’s success can be attributed to our good friend Keith Parsons, and his cohort of ECSE instructors, who develop and deliver the content

ECSE  Troubleshooting

we’re excited to introduce ECSE Troubleshooting, the next step in the Ekahau University program! This 4-day, in-person boot camp offers tons of hands-on labs and real-world learning. The ECSE Troubleshooting is exactly what it sounds like: an ECSE course that focuses on troubleshooting Wi-Fi, and anything related to Wi-Fi that can cause your wireless network to fail.

It will cover every aspect of the troubleshooting process, including investigating, measuring, validating, analyzing, and more (but not in that specific order, since troubleshooting can begin from any angle). There’s even a lab about how to ask the right questions, so you can learn how to quickly and efficiently get the right information to solve the problem.

On the purely technical side, the ECSE Troubleshooting will cover all of the places where things can go wrong on the network, ranging from the captive portal (ugh) to the Wi-Fi client device (and everything in-between).
